Well my friends, it's been a long road. Scratch that. It's been a looooong road. (My poor husband. That man is long-suffering.) But Tell Your Time is finally officially relaunched. What a relief!
The story in bullets:
- I originally launched Tell Your Time on October 26, 2010. I hoped to sell 50 to 100 copies. 1000 in my wildest dreams.
- I was stunned that I sold not only 50 copies, but thousands. Totally stunned.
- I had plans to put it on Amazon in December of 2010. Um, that never happened. You know how life goes, right?
- While life was happening, I made plans to get it professionally edited and then put it on Amazon in January of 2011.
- On January 17, 2011, I was approached by a traditional book publisher. They offered me a very kind and generous book deal. I declined. For several reasons (none of which had to do with them. The acquisition editor I interacted with was BEYOND WONDERFUL!). That decision was. agony. AGONY. (Did I mention that decision was agony?)
- I shelved all work on Tell Your Time while I was agonizing since I didn't know whether I was going to hand the process over to them or continue it myself.
- After declining their offer, I picked it back up again with renewed vigor. After all, if they thought it was good enough to publish, maybe it's not such a bad little book after all. (That's what I told myself anyway.)
- I rewrote much of it.
- Then I sent it to a professional editor for some more editing.
- When I got it back, I promptly rearranged, rewrote and revamped basically until my eyeballs fell out. (You know I love writing, don't you? {{sarcasm}})
- Meanwhile, a friend designed a new book cover for me.
- Sarah Mae's ebook, How to Market and Sell Your eBook, came out at the PERFECT time. It was extremely helpful.
- I finally finished all edits, formatted it, wrestled with the Kindle publishing software (argh!), wrestled with the Kindle publishing software again, created an updated PDF, changed all settings and links at E-junkie, hoped I didn't miss anything vital and then, hit "Publish" on the brand spankin' new Tell Your Time site.
Now I think I will go take a nap.
For like 2 years.
If you wouldn't mind helpin' a girl out…
I'd be most honored if you helped spread the word. Here are some ways you can do so:
- Buy it? (That is, if you didn't buy the first version or want to see the new version.)
- If you do buy it (or have bought it), become an affiliate so you get 50% commission using your affiliate link on the digital copy (PDF)!
- Tweet about it.
- Post about it.
- Share it on Facebook or Google+.
- If you've read it and found it helpful, I'd love your honest review at Amazon.
So, what do you wanna know?
Judging by my inbox, some of you have questions. Ask! I'll try to answer questions in the coming weeks.
Thank you.
And good night.

So excited for you!
I'm promoting the book on my blog, with a link in the footer of my posts read in a reader or via email. Hopefully this will generate a lot of interest among my blog readers!
Congrats to you! Now go take a nap!
Thank you so much, Chrissy!
Yay. congratulations Amy. This is very big.
One little thing – the second bullet point says that you sold 50 copies. I am pretty sure it is supposed to be more than that, otherwise you wouldn't have been stunned.
Thank you Linda. I edited the post to make it a bit more clear.
I appreciate you letting me know how it came across.
I of course don't want to miss a thing…. so even if I bought your first version should I purchase your second? You make it very affordable – but is there more that I would glean?
Blessings on your re-launch!
The basic content of each is the same with the 4-step process, pitfalls, principles, etc. The new version is just a tiny bit more fleshed out in parts, rearranged some and reworked. I just wanted it to flow a bit more smoothly. So no, I wouldn' t buy it again if the first is workin' for ya.
Amy,
How exciting!! I just purchased from Amazon:) I am looking forward to reading it on my Kindle.
It takes patience, sometimes to finish a GOAL!!
Thank you Sheila. I appreciate it.
I am getting ready to buy it! Thanks!
Thank you!
I got it! Great job, can't wait to get to work!
Thanks so much!
