I've been using a handy tool called Buffer for the last couple of months and I LOVE it. Buffer allows you to schedule tweets and updates so they are posted on the days and at the times you choose.
The free version allows you to set up one Twitter account and one Facebook account. (If you want to connect more of your social media accounts and have more functionality, you can upgrade.) They've got handy goodies like browser extensions, mobile apps and buttons for your blog (like I've included in my Sharebar).

What makes it handy?
It's helpful if you like to post a lot but don't want to do it all at once and flood your stream or feed.
It's also nice to be able to set your schedule to post at the times you are likely to get the most engagement.
Also, I love being able to surf the net and add things to my Buffer super quick using the bookmarklet.
Check it out!

As a new blogger, I've spent last week designing my website and this week is more about getting the content up to snuff. As part of last week's design process, I set up a Facebook, Google + and Twitter account for my business because I wanted the cute little buttons on my site to work! I'm familiar with Facebook because I use it personally–but know nothing about Google+ or Twitter. In fact I don't really understand how I got Twitter followers when I wasn't posting anything!!
This Buffer tool might be just what I need! Amy, do you have any other good articles that would get me going on posting to Social Media sites or RSS works (and why/if its different than an email subscribe list)? I have one of those too and don't really understand it–I'm telling 'ya it was all about getting those cute little buttons on my blog!
I love it!
Just discovered Buffer last week and I love it. I cruise the web early in the morning, so I can select everything I want to share at one time and have it post throughout the day–a great way to share without overload. It's a wonderful tool.
I've had my eye on Buffer for a while now. I think this will help me take the plunge and TRY it! Thanks!
I've loved Buffer – very helpful to not alternate between overloading and ignoring my twitter account.
I haven't tried buffer, but I do schedule tweets and Facebook posts with Hootsuite. I do like being able to schedule everything since I only have a small window of computer time each evening.
I hadn't heard about this. Thanks so much for sharing and I'm definitely going to test it out.
I absolutely love buffer! I am always looking online late at night but posting to twitter or FB then wouldn't make much sense, so I use buffer to schedule for more optimum times.
Ditto. Makes life so much easier. I need an App now for the Droid. Great too…but I still like Hoot Suite too!
Amy, thanks so much for the amazing review here! It's just like you say, stopping to flood your feed is what triggered us to build it. Just Buffered your post!

What is the difference between this and tweetdeck? I'm confused
Buffer is more for scheduling as opposed to TweetDeck which is a more full-functioning client where you can follow others, etc. TweetDeck is a lot more robust (and does allow scheduling) but Buffer makes scheduling updates a breeze.
oh okay thanks I might have to look into using this.
It's super handy!
Fabulous! This is exactly what I've been looking for, and it will be such a life-saver to not have to get on my computer periodically JUST to post something to FB or Twitter. Like you said, I don't want to flood my followers in with 5 posts in 10 minutes and then give nothing else for the rest of the day. Love it-thanks for sharing!
After I commented on a more recent post about any twitter tips you had, I decided I should have just searched your blog for them. I wish I would have thought of that before I published my comment…sorry. Anyways, I just joined Buffer and oh my goodness, I can already tell it is going to make my life so much easier!!! Like another comment I read, I do most of my creative thinking at night when my kids are asleep, so it's going to be so great to get my thoughts down then and simply schedule them to go out the next day. Thank you, once again!
