Pinterest continues to be a huge traffic driver for many blogs and let's face it, it is just plain fun!
I was reading How to Watch Your Pinterest Numbers Grow Daily by Michelle Penick recently. In it, she mentioned that she saw an increase in Pinterest followers once she started including the Pinterest follow buttons in her weekly newsletter. Not everyone has a weekly newsletter, however, most of us have a feed (and if you don't, be sure to get one).
If your blog is image-driven (or just has a lot of pin-worthy photos), consider adding a Pinterest button at the end of your feed to increase your Pinterest followers and your exposure.
Here's how to add a Pinterest follow button to your feed:
- Grab the code for a Pinterest button here (scroll down to "Follow Buttons" for websites).
- Use a plugin like the one I wrote about recently in How to Add Something to Your Feed's Footer.
- Once the plugin is installed, go to Dashboard –> TentBlogger –> RSS Footer –> and paste your code in the "Custom RSS Message" field and save!
- Make sure you check out your feed to make sure it renders properly the next time you update your content.
