One Easy Way to Earn Online – No Blog Required

Well hopefully you are busy blogging and building your readership. Keep at it! This is the part of the process that takes a bit of time, but once you've got a good, solid following, you can start monetizing your blog and generate a bit of income.

In the meantime, I thought I'd show you one way (unrelated to your blog specifically) that you can earn — not cash — but gift cards (or other merchandise but I think the gift cards are the better deal). You can do so with SwagBucks.

I (skeptically) signed up several weeks ago and have been pleasantly surprised. It's actually pretty painless. I don't plan on getting rich, but I do plan on buying some (if not all) of our Christmas presents with them.

What are Swag Bucks?

They are described as "digital dollars" you earn in various ways online. They can be redeemed for merchandise or gift cards.

I just redeemed my first bunch of SwagBucks in exchange for an Amazon gift card so I know from personal experience that it works.

How to Start Earning with Swag Bucks

Go to SwagBucks and sign up by clicking on "Register" in the top right of your screen. (By the way, it's totally free to sign up.) Once you do, you can read about the different ways to earn Swag Bucks online by clicking on the "Ways to Earn" link at the top of your screen.

How I've Earned Most of my SwagBucks to date

I've earned most of my Swag Bucks so far by using the toolbar (see image above). I use the toolbar for searching online. (I've even taught my kids how to use it. When they win, it's a source of great excitement!)

Using Chrome?

If so, here's how you can make your Chrome address bar magically turn into a Swagbucks toolbar!

  1. This is a great resource…thanks so much for sharing! I have never even heard of Swagbucks until now, but I'm definitely going to check it out.

  2. This CAN be related to blogging!! I've earned the overwhelming majority of my Swagbucks simply by referring my readers to Swagbucks. Between that and my Amazon affiliate credit over the past year, I've racked up a pretty lil' Amazon $$$ to start my master bedroom remodel. Very exciting! If you are a blogger, this may well be worth promoting.

  3. I love Swagbucks! I've been using it for a while now. I haven't cashed in any of my points yet, though. I'm planning on saving them up and using them to purchase some Christmas gifts this year. :-)

  4. For some reason, it won't let me download the toolbar. I watched your tutorial and everything, but I don't know what I'm doing wrong….?

I hesitate to give my birthdate information to web companies like this. Does anyone else have the same reaction? I fear that they will also gain access to my social security number. I suppose you could make up a date but, I'm not sure that will work.

I have already given my birthdate to several coupon type websites but again, I don't know if this is a very smart thing to do.

  6. Love this!

  7. Hi there,
After reading your blog I signed up for swag bucks. I tried to give you a referral but I could not find your code. Is it too late? I'd like to help you if I could.

  8. Hey!

I just signed up for the Swagbucks. I'm a little skeptical about it but so far so good. I hope you are all right and it's legit! I don't want to get any viruses.

    Happy Holidays!

    :)
