So a while ago I wrote a post entitled How to Keep Track of Your Money. In it, I talked about all the things I recommend doing as soon as you make your first dollar (and preferably before) as a blogger.

One of the things I mentioned in that post was the importance of having a separate bank account for all your business-related stuff.

Personally, I use ING Direct's Electric Orange Checking Account for this purpose.* I LOVE them. But even if you don't use it for your business, this is a great checking account for personal use as well and you might as well take advantage of the deal!

Here's how to take advantage of the deal:

  1. Go here.
  2. Click on the Electric Orange link (top center) and follow the prompts to set up your account (super easy, no minimums).
  3. Within 45 days, "make a total of 5 purchases (either signature or PIN-based) using your Electric Orange Card or Person2Person Payments (or any combination of the two)."
  4. On day 50, they'll deposit $107 into your account. Woot!

But hurry because November 27th is the last day! Go quick a minute…(and you can get extra bonuses if you get accounts for your kids and more). Sweet!

*Sidenote: Alicia and I had a conversation in comments once about whether or not it was a good idea to use this account for business. As a sole proprietor without a DBA (Doing Business As), I have not found any definitive reason not to use the Electric Orange. Of course, if you know something I don't, please let me know!  But even if you choose not to use it for business, choose it for personal use. Hey, $107 bucks is $107 bucks!!

    I went to apply for an account and it says that the electric orange account is not to be used for a business. Just thought I would let you know since it seemed to be a question. It was before they asked for personal information.
