Do you have an idea for a new blog, website or online project?

Doing so WILL NOT change your existing site. Why? Because your existing site's domain is not pointed to this hosting account; they are totally unconnected. Entering an existing domain will only give Host Gator something to associate your hosting account with for now. You will be issued a temporary URL in the meantime.
5. Once you know the domain you want to use, simply contact Host Gator and tell them to change it for you.
