Did you know that if you start a tweet with the @ symbol, it will only show up in the Twitter timelines of you, the person you're @-ing and the people who follow both of you?
It's true. Of course sometimes this comes in handy, but if you want all of your followers to see your tweet, start it with other words or .@ instead.
From Twitter's Help Center:
If you write .@Support or ?@Support, it will appear as a regular Tweet, meaning all of your followers will see it in their timeline, rather than just you, the intended recipient and those who follow both of you.
Now ya know!

interesting tip – i think i'm going to Tweet it….
LOL, thank you.
Well who knew. Thanks!
Interesting! Thanks for the tip
Good tip as I'm starting to use Twitter more than FB – which I thought would never happen .. lol.

Wow! I do not know that. I thought I'm doing everything right. I guess I have to eat a lot of Wheaties to absorb all of this social media stuff
.
You and me both! It's hard to keep up. Plus, it changes every five minutes. That doesn't exactly make it easier. Sometimes I think we should all just move to a peaceful island and just talk to each other like the old days. Things would be so much less complicated, don't you think?
I'm all for the private island idea. Thanks for the Twitter tips. I'm just starting to figure it out.
How do I get a picture to show up next to my comment. Seriously, just learning!
Here ya go, Cindy.
You're seriously the best! Not only do I like your information, but you get back to your readers! Thanks.
Good to know. I'm learning more about Twitter each day, mainly thanks to you!
Wow – I had no idea! I'm not so Twitter smart. I'm more of a Facebook & Pinterest girl. I've got to get more active on Twitter and Google+ too. So much to keep up with! Thanks for the tip!
Thank you for answering a question I had yet to ask! I was wondering why I was seeing @ tweets with a . before the @.
Thanks so much for all of the tips! I've created my entire blog with your help. You're truly a blessing and I can't thank you enough! Merry Christmas and Happy and Healthy 2013!
You're very welcome, Christine! So glad it has been helpful. Merry Christmas & Happy 2013 to you as well.
Thanks Amy! I didn't know that:)
Blessings!
Fabulous site! You can see a lot of those messages when you first visit a page before followimg, and that's a quick way to not earn a follow from me. I like seeing a few useful posts to everyone.
I am writing my first book that will be e-book published and need to start learning about Twitter, Facebook and Google. How do I put those symbols on my website so I and all people who go to those sites see the comments.
Just learning – thanks a bunch!
Sally
Incredible. I just assumed that everyone sees those tweets!
Nice useful tips Amy. I did not try to use it actually but with your explanation here I found it has a good function.
