How to subscribe to a specific search on Craigslist

OK, I admit, this isn't directly related to blogging, but this is a handy tip I heard from my sister that I wanted to pass on to you!

If you use Craigslist at all, you've probably searched for specific items at one time or another:

When you search for something — let's say toys — you get all the current toy listings for your area:

If you don't see anything that interests you right off the bat, there's no need to start your search all over again later. Simply subscribe to that specific search's RSS feed and get all the latest toy listings right in your feed reader (I use Google Reader)!

The RSS feed for a particular search can be found by scrolling down to the bottom of the listings page. Click on the RSS link in the bottom right corner to subscribe.

Thanks, Oosh!

  1. I'm curious how fast the Craigslist RSS feed updates. I've done this in the past (like years ago), but found that it didn't update quite fast enough for me to get in on the hot items. Wondering if their RSS feed updates faster, seems a lot of them do nowadays. It was LONG time ago that I tried it!
