How to Reorder the Links on Your Facebook Page

If you have a Facebook page, you'll know that you now have links under your profile pic.

How to reorder Facebook page links

Did you know you can reorder them (except for your Wall and Info)?

It's easy. Here's how:

You first need to have at least 7 links there. If you don't already have that many, simply add some. (You can delete them as soon as you reorder them if you'd like.) If you already have 7, skip down.

Update: It looks like you might be able to reorder your links without having to have 7 or more! Give it a try by clicking the "Edit" link at the bottom of your list. Thanks for the tip, Kelsey!

How to add 7 links to your list

If you need to add some, click your "Edit Page" button in the top right of your page. Then…

  1. Click "Apps" in the left column. Use an app that's already listed (or scroll down to the bottom of the page and find a new one by clicking "Browse new applications").
  2. Click on the "Edit Settings" link underneath your app (below I used the "Links" app).
  3. Clicking "Add".
  4. Click "Okay".

(In some cases, you can add one app multiple times like I did with Static HTML which I used to create my Facebook landing page.)

Repeat the above process until you have 7 links under your profile pic.

How to reorder your links

Go back to your page and you should see an "Edit" link at the bottom of the list. (You may have to click on the "More" link first if you have more than 7 links there.)

Click on "Edit" and simply drag and drop the links in the order you want!

Simple!

  1. Never knew you could do that! That is VERY cool.

  2. Thanks for the tip, Amy! I didn't know you could add items to that menu. Also, I was able to edit the order when there were only four links total.

    • Sorry to double dip, but, Amy, did I miss a tutorial on how you added those nice custom links to the left sidebar (My video tutorials, etc.)? Is that a capability with the iFrame?

      • Amy :

No worries. Double dip anytime! I edited the names of the links (formerly known as "tabs") I created with Static HTML. Here's my post describing how to create a Facebook landing page using Static HTML but you can really create any kind of HTML page using that app. Static HTML allows you to edit the name of your link (or tab) by going to "Edit Page" –> Apps –> then click on "Edit Settings" under Static HTML –> you'll see a "Custom Tab Name" field in which you type your preferred name.

    • Amy :

Oh awesome! Maybe they changed it so you don't have to have 7 or more!

  3. ok amy, my question is how did you get the twitter link in there in the first place?

  4. Great info – thanks so much Amy!

  5. I so need to catch up with this. How do you keep up with everything? My assistant has been wonderful. We're just a little too busy right now.

  6. Can you explain Involver to us? I love all of these different sites but it seems like you have to devote so much time to figuring everything out. Just reading the terms and conditions is a task in itself. Just venting.LOL

    • Amy :

It's just a company that provides apps. And yes, all of this does take a lot of time! That's why I started this blog — in an effort to steer you in the right direction so you have less to wade through. :)
