I use and recommend the WordPress theme called Genesis. I love it, but one of the hardest things I've encountered is trying to choose which child theme I want.
The truth is, I've purchased many more child themes than I'd like to admit because I can't make up my mind. Although this isn't surprising since "can't make up my mind" is practically my middle name.
Anyway, had I known I was going to be so fickle about my child theme choices, I would have purchased the All-Theme Package long ago. As the name suggests, you can get all the child themes in one fell swoop (and cheaper) than if you just buy one child theme at a time.
Note my discussion with Jeff about the theme package on my recent post, Q&A: What Genesis Child Theme Should I Use?:
Jeff: I agree with you about Genesis. I bought the all theme package a couple of years ago and it was the best investment.
Me: Oh man, Jeff, I am TOTALLY kicking myself for not doing the same thing when I had the opportunity a while back (I had a rockin' coupon code). That's awesome!
Well. I am happy to report, StudioPress (the makers of Genesis) is having a week-long sale on their Pro Plus All-Theme Package. Woot!
Just to be clear, I do not recommend this deal for everyone (perhaps most), but for some, it might be an excellent deal and it's one I took advantage of myself. Mostly it's for the fellow geeks in the house, but it's a big purchase (it is for me anyway) so you'll have to decide whether or not it would be worthwhile for you. Still, I know many of you have interest in blog design, so that's why I mention it.
My two cents and the 411:
I do not recommend this deal if you are:
- A new blogger just starting out. It's totally overkill at this point.
- A blogger who does not like dealing with the back-end of your site and would rather hire it out to someone else if needed.
- A seasoned blogger who is happy with your theme and in a good rhythm.
You might consider this deal if you are:
- A current or future blog designer.
- A blogger who is outgrowing your current blog setup and has the budget and the skills to tackle a new design yourself.
- A blogger who has many different projects in mind for which you may need different sites.
What you get with the deal:
You get all the StudioPress child themes for the Genesis Theme Framework, now and forever. Not only do you get the child themes available today (almost 50), but you also get all the child themes they make available in the future! Oh, for someone like me, that's exciting. Just think of the possiblities.
Price:
The regular price for the Pro Plus All-Theme package is $349.95. The sale price through August 28, 2012 is $299.95.
If you're interested, you can check it out and purchase the Pro Plus All-Theme Package here.

I've thought of moving from Thesis to Genesis but I'm afraid of how difficult the backend programming might be. How much HTML do you have to know? I'm proficient at google.
Pretty expensive. I'll pass.
This really is a great deal. I took advantage of a sale they had on the Pro Plus package last winter and I haven't regretted it for a second. It was a really big purchase, but I have loved designing on and digging into all of the child themes they have – I definitely fall into the fellow geek category
I bought the whole package a couple of years ago. It was money well spent. I love that they keep giving you new themes and you do not have to pay extra. The support is also excellent.
I will only ever use Genesis. Absolutely the best, in my opinion. My absolute favorite child theme is Lifestyle. In fact, I've used it for all but one of the blogs I've designed. But I've definitely been tempted to buy the whole package. I love Genesis!!
I think I'm a fellow geek… I love all the different themes – I bought one theme & immediately regretted it… because I changed my mind (so I'm back to using a free WP theme)
. At the same time, I don't anticipate changing the look of my blog very often. So — I have a question, if I bought this package am I allowed to use it to design other sites, not owned by me and for pay? I'm new to the world of WordPress & paid designing. It seems I wouldn't be able to purchase this once, then make money from using it. Do you know? I haven't been able to find a definitive answer to this.
Hi April, I think this might answer your question (from the Studiopress).
I am on my 3rd design in 3 years. I seem to get tired of them after a year. However this time I paid for my design. I did get a discount as I already had the theme and just needed the modifications made. I had the theme because I bought the pro package before they raised their prices last year. I bought it because I like the option of having access to all current and future themes. I bought it because I get access to the amazing helpful community forums. I have used it on my site, my moms site I build for her and a friends site I built for her. To me it was a great investment in my mind but yes each person needs to decide for themselves.
I think you took advantage of the deal I wish I had.
Question: If I were to buy this can I only use it on one blog or can I use it to create a second blog too?
Just bought a theme….thanks for the prompting not what do I do with it? here comes the learning curve.
Check out my Genesis Resource page which lists all kinds of great destinations for Genesis.
I have been very happy with Genesis and the Blissful child theme.
I did work with a designer, because I had personally hit the limits of my ability!
I just purchased it today. I'm looking forward to diving in.
I purchased Genesis and two child themes recently. Although the full package of themes is out of my budget, I hope to invest in this soon. I am enjoying using hooks to customize the themes because they provide a lot of flexibility to achieve the look I want. In my opinion, the admin panel is straightforward and easier to use than most free templates.
Genesis is obviously an awesome framework and the child themes they provide are just so responsive and attractive.I've been using Genesis Framework with Balance, Streamline, MindStream child themes for my blogs
Hi Amy, I'm setting up Metric Genesis Child Theme, however I have a problem with slider at Home Top Left. Could you have me to customize it?
Hi John, my queue is currently closed. I would definitely ask for help in the Genesis Child Theme support forum for Metric.
