I've had some questions about Facebook page tabs (Favorites) and how to edit the images like I did here on my new Facebook page (you moved with me right?):
While I was at it, I took the opportunity to share a couple more Facebook page tips as well:
Can't see the video? Watch it here.
Video Notes:
- Did you know my Facebook page moved? Sure did. You can Like the new one here so you don't miss anything!
- Make sure you have a clickable link in your About section. Oh man, it makes me so sad when I see no clickable links.
- Instead of using up one of your tabs on the top line of your Favorites to display your Likes, use that space to drive traffic to your blog or direct visitors to something very relevant. Likes are listed under your name anyway, so it's a bit redundant. (Shout-out to Mari Smith for pointing this out!) By the way, I use the Static HTML app and the Woobox Custom Tab app for my tabs. I also added the Pinterest tab with Woobox as well.
- Edit your Tabs by first clicking on the down arrow to the right of your Favorites, then hover over your tabs and click the edit icon (looks like a pencil) to do things like switch the position of your tabs, remove them altogether or customize the tab name or image. Tab image size dimensions are 111px wide by 74px high.
Lastly, optimize your image sizes & posting options
I thought I'd pass along this handy cheat sheet from LunaMetrics which shows you all the ideal image sizes (plus more tips) for Facebook as well as the other heavy-hitting social media sites:

Thank you for this, Amy. I wish I had this post when I edited my FB picture!
About Facebook, but a little off topic, is there a way to import blog posts into FB? I used to use RSS Graffitti but it stopped working. I tried importing them via the Notes, but that didn't work either. Am I missing something? Does FB not allow importing blogs anymore? TIA for your help!
I'm sure there are still apps to use (perhaps Networked Blogs?) but instead of automatically importing your posts, I highly recommend manually entering them. You get a lot more engagement that way.
Thanks for replying, Amy. You are so right about importing blog posts manually; I was trying to take the easy way out! LOL!
Oh you sound like me. I'm always lookin' for an easy way out for sure!
Hi, Amy
Great site! How did you add Pinterest to your tabs? I'm missing something in my understanding of where to find these apps and how to add them. Pretty elementary, I'm sure, but that's where I am. (http://www.facebook.com/AdamBlumerNovelist) Thanks.
Hi Adam. Great question. You can get the Pinterest tab from Woobox here. (And I have to say, adding tabs can be a bit confusing, so I understand where you're coming from!)
Amy,
Thanks, super helpful! The part I was having trouble with was getting the apps to show up in my favorites list. I am glad you said Woobox, or I would have never figured it out!
Thanks again, this was starting to drive me crazy.

I wish I could follow your suggestions but my facebook does not seem to work like yours. None of the menus you show appear on mine. When I put my web site into the about section, it did not show up. When I tried to change or add things to the photos next to the about section, the menus were not like the ones you showed. Go figure.
Paul, hmmm, the first thing I'm wondering is if you are trying to do this on your Facebook Personal Profile as opposed to a Page? Perhaps you could provide a link to your page…
I was on my personal profile. It worked when I switched to my business page, Estuary Press, https://www.facebook.com/pages/Estuary-Press/192493350843351?ref=tn_tnmn. I am continually doing the wrong thing on these social media sites. Thanks for the help.
No worries. Glad you figured it out! (It's a lot to figure out.)
Can be quite confusing for sure!
OMG Amy! You're the best!!! This is soooo helpful! I've tried and tried to get my images changed on my facebook page with no success. And that image sizing chart is WONDERFUL!!! Thank you soooooo much!!!
You're welcome! That infographic is from LunaMetrics so I can't take credit myself but I agree with you–so helpful!
I think I may have a few more gray hairs
I finally got some tabs on there, but the tab goes to the image of my site (and from my view, it is my view w/ the wp editing tabs across the top). I like how your tabs flash a "directing to http://www…." and then goes straight to your page. Any tips on how to have it do that?
Ok, I answered my own question by clicking on redirect when creating the tab. That's great! Now….I can't seem to get back into the tab to edit the settings. Any help there? Of course, I may be back to answer my own question again as I mess around with it
When you're logged into Facebook, click on the tab you want to edit. It'll ask you if you want to be redirected but click "Cancel." Then you should see the settings.
Got it! Got it! Got it!….I think
Thanks, Amy!!
Loved this …Thank you Amy! I just updated all my tabs using Woobox! I love that you can redirect it back to your blog! Sweet
That infographic is pure gold, great find! Thanks for sharing
I cant' seem to figure out how to add a tab that links to my website. When I hit the + button on a new tab it only asks if I want to add notes, videos, groups or events. I did manager to get the PInterest tab on there, though.
Hi Carey, does this link help? It's a similar process to adding the Pinterest tab via their website vs. via their Facebook app.
Just wanted you to know that this was VERY helpful!
Don't have it totally figured out (with sizes etc) but I did add several things to my Blog FB page using this!
Thank you!
Amy, what do you suggest for photo size in a blog post – please and thank you>
Great cheat sheets, Amy! So much info all in one place!
God bless you for posting this.
Glad it was helpful, Aimee!
Hi Amy. Love your tips as always. I've got the new tab on my FB page edited for the image I want, but I'm trying to do a link redirect like yours where it says "Continue to …" and then lands on your page. I've tried 3 different things but can't get that automatic redirect, only an image that has to be clicked again. Can you tell me what I'm missing?
Finally got it to work with this code I found in a forum somewhere:
top.location.href = 'http://yourwebsite.com';
Keep up the great work!
Glad you got it!
Hey Clay, try this link to Woobox. You'll need to choose "Redirect" in the settings.
Hey Amy. Please help me? I already have static iframes installed on my facebook, and I don't think I chose the redirect option. How do I get back into the app and change it? I just spent hours trying to figure it out on my own. Thank you so much in advanced!
OMG! I totally just figured it out! I needed a code to get it to go where I wanted it to and I found one. Woohoo! Your instructions have made me a genius, Amy! Way to go!
Thank you! I've been wanting to get PInterest on my FB page!
Like many other commenters I was spinning around in circles trying to figure out what I was missing – when I clicked the pencil to edit, I had none of those choices as a few other commenters mentioned.
For anyone still having this problem, try "hiding" your admin panel at the top of the page. Reload if necessary. For some reason if my admin panel is open, the whole tab thing gets buggy.
Also, I couldn't figure out how people were creating these apps they were using. Aha! Woobox! Thank you so much for the share!
mmm… I may have spoken too soon. The tab bugginess is back to its old tricks. I even switched browsers and it's doing the same thing.
Thought I'd figured it out. Sorry to disappoint!
Great tips Amy. Really liked the G+ and Pinterest shares and the FB share image size tip, I never get that image right haha
Facebook is stressing me out with all of their changes. Why couldn't they leave well enough alone? *sigh
anyway, i have been working on my tabs but that page image has been the bain of my existence. thanks for these tips on sizing. I will be able to update now…….i hope. I have 2 pages
I am new to all this…I saw you speak @mamaswrite this year…I have a personal fb account, but how do I make a fb page for my blog. It says I need to use my real name, but I want to use my blog name. Any points on how to do this? I am not techie at all!
Hi Susan, just sign into Facebook using your personal account info. Once you're signed in, create a page here.
Amy – This is a great help. Thank you. BTW – I just purchased your e-book and looking forward to reading it. Bless you!
Thanks Debi! I hope it's helpful.
YOU are the best!!!!!! The cheat sheet deserves it's own tab!
YOUR (guess I was excited lol)
Thank you so much for sharing this! I just went through and completely updated my tabs and added my website in the about section
I don't think I realized it would link to it before. Great information! ~Erin
Hi Amy!
I am wondering about how to make clickable links in the ABOUT section as you suggest?
On my pages, you can add a coded link is linkable, but it displays it in code – it doesn't allow a basic HTML link.
Hmmmm….appreciate any advice! Thanks!
Here is one of my pages : facebook.com/dallasfrugalfoodie
Very helpful tips, Amy. I'm slowly implementing your advice and your tutorials are great! I've set a goal to spend time on your blog on Thursday mornings, taking your advice and tweeking things on my blog. Thanks so much!
Thanks for hanging out with me, Martha!
I am finally trying to add more to my FB page – late, I know
but when I try to download static HTML or woobox, at first it gave me the different page options to add it to but instead of Whole New Mom (my main blog's page name) it said "Whole New Mom Comments". I didn't know what to do so I clicked on it and now there is no option at all for me to add anything to Whole New mom . It only allows me to add it to the other pages where I am an administrator. Any ideas how to be able to use Woobox or Static HTML app on my blog's fan page? Thanks!
Hi again, Amy. I finally got the app to set up on my fb page, but I can't figure out how to get it to link to my blog. If you have a good resource I would love it – thanks!!
Were the video tutorial instructions not helpful?
The video helped w/ the photo and though I don't know what the link would go to, I sort of understand that. What I don't know how to do is to have the tab link to something – like to my blog. I would like one of them to link there or to some post on my blog. Could you tell me how to have the tab link somewhere please? Forgive me if I am missing something obvious
.
Fantastic post, Amy! I'm pinning, and I can't wait to come back and read more in depth when I have time to fix up my facebook page!
Thanks, Heidi. Glad you stopped by!
Now I've had time to watch the video. I can't wait to start taking advantage of my tabs. I had no idea they were even there!
Woot!
Amy, I can't find the Static HTML app or the Woobox Custom app for Facebook. Wanting to change my tabs to pics w/links. Are there new ones to use? How do I find them? Thanks.
Katie
Hi Katie! Did the links in the post not work for you? They should take you directly to an "add to your Page" button and then just follow the prompts.
Thank you so much for sharing this. I am a new follower via twitter.
I have only just started and have been spending more time on my blog…neglecting my FB page.

Hey Amy, Hope you don't get tired of hearing it but thank you! I've gotten so many amazing resources from you on BWA. I'm struggling (with designers) setting up my WordPress site. I've been looking for something exactly like Woobox for Facebook with no success. I didn't expect to find it here. You're awesome!
I never get tired of hearing it, so thank you. Knowing others find my posts helpful is so encouraging. Glad this was helpful for you!
