If you have been thinking of setting up your own website or blog, but the cost of hosting has prohibited you thus far, this is an excellent day to take the plunge! OR, if you know of someone who would love to start a website or blog, why not give them hosting as a gift!! (If you've followed my steps to setting up your own website or blog you'll know hosting is your biggest expense when starting out…and today, that equates to hardly anything!)
HostGator is having a 50% off sale on hosting! That is an outstanding deal!
You may know that I have mostly used Bluehost in the past, but about 2 weeks ago, I went through the sign-up process for HostGator after someone recommended it to me. I have not fully set up my new site yet, but so far, it's very similar to Bluehost and I have absolutely no qualms about recommending them. HostGator is very reputable. One major benefit to HostGator is that you can pay monthly if you choose (Bluehost requires you to sign up for at least one year at a time). Any way you slice it, this is an excellent time to dive in!
This deal is for new customers only and the 50% comes off of your first invoice. So, if you choose to pay 3 years in advance, you'll get 50% off all of those months. If you choose the monthly plan, your 50% comes off the 1st month (i.e. your first invoice).

So this would be a great save, but I have no idea which of the host gator's to pick! Hatchling Plan, Baby Plan or Business Plan.
Can you help please!?
Thanks!
Hi Laura,
I just updated the post with a video tutorial. But in answer to your question, the Hatchling plan is totally fine!
WOW that was really quick! Thank you so much for the tutorial and your website as a whole! I have been learning a lot in the last few weeks about blogging from you. I appreciate that you share your struggles so the rest of us can learn. Have a great day!
I have a wordpress.com blog already set up. If I was to pay for Host Gator could my blog just be switched intact? Or does it stay a wordpress site? How does that work?
eeek! I just bought hosting through them 2 days ago! Now I'm wishing I had waited. Btw, your tutorials have been a LIFESAVER the past few days getting my new site up and running!
